Q: Why am I having trouble growing plants or grass?

A: Maybe you may need to have your soil tested to see what nutrients you are lacking. Go to www.homesoiltest.msu.edu to buy a soil test kit.  If you have any questions, please give us a call and we can help you through the process.

Q: What services does your company offer?

A: Landscape Division offers installation of retaining walls, pavers, gravel driveways, and light excavation. Landscape Supply yard offers for the customer to pick up landscape supplies or have them delivered to their site.

Q: How much will a yard of material cover?

A: A yard of material will cover approximately 100 s/f at 3” thick, or a 10’ x 10’ area at 3” thick depending on the material being used. I.E. 4A cobblestone will cover an area approximately 70 -80 s/f at 4” thick.

Q: What is the best material to use for a driveway?

A: 23A crushed limestone is the best for a driveway. It will pack hard, like concrete, and be more stable.

Q: Can you load pickup trucks?

A: Yes, we have a half yard bucket which is small enough for loading pickups and trailers.

Q: Can you spread driveway gravel?

A: Yes, as long as there are no over head wires, trees, or other obstructions in the way. The truck needs 22 feet of clearance.

Q: What is the seeding rate for grass seed for new lawns?

A: The average is 6 pounds per 1000 square feet.

Q: What are your business hours?

A: We are open year round. Hours fluctuate throughout the year with the seasons. We are closed on major holidays.

Q: Can you special order products?

A: Yes, depending on if our suppliers carry what you are looking for.
